I woke up late today, it was so dumb. I need to learn to either not fall asleep on the couch every night (poor Dave, all alone) or to set the alarm so I stop getting up at all hours of the afternoon.
SO YEAH. I was supposed to be at
starmatter's place at 1PM for shenanigans, but I woke up at 6 minutes to and had a bit of a panic after groaning and "STUPID, STUPID, STUPID"-ing myself while I threw the covers off and made a mad dash to get out the door.
Eventually made it there and had a lot of fun. It was my first time having an outing in... wow, I don't even know how long. It's my first time over at a friend's place in well over a year now, so it was definitely a welcome change of pace. Plus, she lives about a ten minute walk STRAIGHT down the street Dave and I live on, so it's not a bother in the least. Plus, I got to meet her boyfriend and her kitty (another Juniper!), which was great. Not only are they great people to chill out with, but it feels really good to talk to people about WoW. I know that's a super nerdy thing to say, but it is a big ol' hobby of mine and Dave's, so it's cool to have people know what is what and not feel all awkward when it's so much as mentioned.
I was introduced to Doctor Who, which I have really enjoyed thus far -- and have introduced Meagan to Firefly, which I think she enjoys too. All that's left is to coerce Lisa into playing WoW with us (lol, maybe not really... MAYBE).
When I got home from Meagan's place today Dave was standing outside (he had only just gotten home - I have the only key) and he was SUPER PISSED OFF. Not because he wasn't let in, but because I hadn't been home to answer his calls all day and he thought I was dead. We've had this problem before, when our phone is being dumb, so it's been discussed that if I don't hear from him I should throw him a call and leave a message during the day. I didn't do this because I felt so certain that he was clear that I was going to be out with a friend for the day.
Turns out I likely hadn't actually said anything concrete about that (I was dead tired when he woke me up to say goodbye this morning), but he did see the directions I wrote down to Meagan's place and I had groggily explained it partially... so it was an honest miscommunication and the whole 'being mad' thing stopped pretty abruptly with snuggles.
We were at Dave's company picnic last weekend, and the two of us were charged with face painting for the kids! We practiced on one another first... so I had a mustache and Dave had a cat head shape and two paw prints on his forehead. The best part of this story is that he sunburned really badly and STILL has the cat head shape on his forehead.
It's really hard to take anything he says seriously right now, even if he's mad.
We did discuss me getting a cell phone after the oh-god-is-Allison-dead fiasco though, haha. Which would be nice, since I want to spend more time out of the house with my new goilfwiends and meeting other people and generally just not sitting around on my ass all day or sleeping until 4PM. Perhaps when/if we go out shopping with Lisa this Sunday afternoon we can look into getting me one.
I hope Lisa will let me talk her into buying her that dress she wanted to get for her birthday party. She needs to learn that I love spoiling my friends and get used to it, damn it. :x
Oh oh oh, I think Dave said we're going on a canoe trip this Saturday. I hope I heard him right -- that sounds totally rad.
Okay, it's almost 4AM and I need to do laundry before I can sleep. Time to go.
